CANYONING / CLIMBING / MOUNTAINEERING / TREKKING
Adventure
An exhilarating way to spend an afternoon would be to try Canyoning. Abseil down canyons into streams and rivers, or cross waterfalls and explore pools and passes; you know this will be fun. Canyoning will let you apply your trekking and rock climbing skills in a new environment, and feel the adrenalin rush as you splash down in the water and soak up the natural surroundings. Climbing is a sport in which an individual ascends a sheer-faced artificial or rock wall. It involves balance, stamina and a degree of strength. Climbing has grown in popularity; it’s a relatively modern sport that is still making progress. Technology has helped make it safer, more accessible and more enjoyable. Climbing the walls: we teach the basic techniques of rock climbing. Mountaineering is an umbrella term that can variously be used to describe the actions of climbing, hill walking and scrambling. In its usual sense, however, it concerns the ascent of mountains of various statures, using various types and amounts of mountaineering equipment. In this latter sense it is also known as alpinism. Trekking is basically walking but a little more hard core. Often it involves hiking in mountainous areas, carry gear for overnight camping and covering long distances over anything from a day or two to a few weeks. It is difficult to distinguish trekking from walking but for the purpose of our site the difference is that trekking involves staying in a different place each night and normally carrying your gear whilst walking is done from a set location that you return to each day.

RAFTING / KAYAKING / CANOEING
Adventure
The sport of whitewater Rafting has been around since the 1960s, and unlike most other sports it gives people the opportunity to take part in a very adventurous activity, with little or no experience. Within rafting, there are several styles and types of craft for river trips. The most common is a paddle raft. In these, anywhere from four to eight paddlers sit in the raft, and follow the instructions of the guide. This type of raft is particularly maneuverable and relatively fast. Paddlers, don their whitewater rafting equipment: wetsuits (in colder climates), lifejackets, and helmets, and are given a full safety briefing by their trip. Kayaking is travelling across water in a small boat under your own steam using a paddle. It is a great way to get out and explore lakes, rivers and the sea. Kayaks are covered and you sit with your legs forward unlike canoes that are open and you either sit on a bench or kneel. Popular forms of kayaking include white water kayaking which is travelling down rapids and is a great adrenaline rush, and sea kayaking which is exploring coastal areas and is great for finding untouched beaches and getting close to marine wildlife. Canoeing has evolved over the years to become one of the most popular water sports as well as achieving Olympic status. There is always confusion around the difference between a kayak and a canoe. Put simply a kayak has a closed deck apart from the whole (the bit where you sit) and is propelled by a double ended paddle. A canoe is open decked, in which you would either knee or stand, using a single paddle. The popularity of canoeing is due to the many forms in which you can experience the sport. Many go canoeing down a scenic river in a leisurely fashion, staying dry and admiring the view.

ZIP LINING / ARCHERY / HORSEBACK RIDING
Adventure
A zip-line (Tyrolean traverse) consists of a pulley suspended on a steel cable mounted on an incline. They are often used in a rainforest canopy or outdoor adventure camps where they are usually one element on a larger challenge or ropes course. The archery session is a great introduction to this ancient traditional sport, using traditional long bows, in a variety of sizes from children's bows to 1.50m & 1.70m bows for adults. For smaller children we have small de-powered plastic framed cross bows which use a small plastic safety bolt. These are very light to hold and operate, so even younger members of the family can have a go in complete safety. The horseback riding consists of trail rides in the morning and instruction in the in dressage or basic horsemanship skills. The horseback riding tours have been carefully chosen for the natural, unspoiled beauty of the countryside and for their historical interest. The horse plays an enormously important part in history and culture of Spain and the pure Spanish or Andalusian horse is very much prized.
